Prison Food is Better
Alright so far awhile now I have been doing quite a lot of research on my topic about school lunches and I know one thing, prisoners get feed better then us when it comes to our school food in the cafeteria. That's right you know that man or woman who got sent to jail for committing a crime that was given ten to fifteen or even life in prison is eating better than you. Now how is it that they are getting feed better then us? Well for starters their food is actually cooked, not thawed out like our food, they actually have a wide variety of food to choose from that actually has more nutrition then ours. Now why is this? It makes no sense to me why our school district has the audacity to do such a thing. The supposed reason is the budget, the schools cannot pay for the healthier better tasting food arguing that it would cost to much and that kids wouldn't want to eat the food and that would cause the district to lose money, which through research is not true... I can go on to continue to talk about all of this but I need to save it for my actual research paper so just keep in mind a prisoner in a prison gets feed better then you a high school student working hard to get into a college.

ReplyDeleteI find your topic interesting. I like how you’re using jail to compare to our school meals because using something drastic and horrible like jail really can attract someone to look into your topic. It’s absurd how criminals are being feed better than the nations golden children. Schools are always influencing as to eat nutritionally, but not even they take that concept into consideration. We have a health class telling us what’s wrong to eat and what’s not, but the moment we step out we see chips from across the hall being sold in our school’s vending machines. It seems our schools don’t really care what we eat. They feed us, at times, repulsive food. Men who are being help in correctional centers, who “are supposed” be fed this type of food aren’t. they’re having gourmet meals compared to us. Our school district really needs to improve our food measures, and quick.
ReplyDeleteI did not know this. That's incredible. The distribution of food in our country has truly been controlled by money and men controlled by their greed for more of it. However, seeing the trash and wasted food around campus stops me for a second. Would "better" food, the vague category of food most students seem to call for, really make a difference in our education or health? The lunch system in our school, initially caters to students who are unable to be provided with lunches from home because of economic disabilities. Yet, many students roam around in their new outfits throwing uneaten food on the ground. If they don't want to eat it, why take it? The call for "better" or "healthier" food seems to only shadow the reality of our society's bitter attitude towards the quality of what is given by tax dollars compared to what they can buy on their own. Prisoners have no other choice.
ReplyDeleteThat definitely shows how our American system works here. If your research is true concerning the prison food in comparison to school food, it is embarrassing to believe we are putting more benefits into our prison system then our educational system. I understand prisoners also need to be treated with respect but at the same time why lock people up that have potential to contribute to the community? It is interesting to think about all the cases of people that intently pursue crimes to be taken to jail, but it isn't surprising. They are given a taxed dollar paid environment, bed, food, water, shower, work out area, knowledge; they are being babysat while people are working hard to make ends meet.
ReplyDeleteWow. It's crazy to think that prisoners are eating better than us in schools. It actually makes me angry. I don't understand why our own government (knowing how important schools are) is putting more money into prisons than schools. As you explained we are talking about imprisoned criminals that have committed crimes from stealing a car to committing murders. To think these criminals are getting well cared for (in the eating part of the spectrum) while students who have a chance to become the next Bill Gates or even the next President of the United States. There has to be some sort of change because prison inmates should not be eating better than innocent students.
